Steps of an Outbreak Investigation
We support the National Influenza Surveillance System (Influenza-like Illness and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) in Cambodia by testing approximately 3000 spacimens per year.We support the National Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System by performing confirmatory testing on samples referredfrom 8 sentinel surveillance sites (approximately 300 samples per year).In 2017, we tested samples to identify emerging and reemerging diseases such as, Avian Influenza, H5N1(887 cases), H7N9 (3cases), Zika virus (12 cases), Enterovirus type 71 (70 cases),MERS-Cov (4 cases), and other bacteria.
