Prof. Chhea Chhorvann, MD, MPH, PhD.

Prof. Chhea Chhorvann: is a leading public health expert in Cambodia, currently serving as the Director of the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH). His academic journey began with his medical degree, which he earned in 1997 from the Faculty of Medicine in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He furthered his studies to get a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2001 and later completed his PhD in Epidemiology in 2009 from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. With extensive experience in research, particularly in HIV/AIDS epidemiology and modeling, Prof. Chhorvann has expanded his expertise to other critical areas of public health, including Health systems and policy, Maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes and hypertension, Communicable diseases. He is currently teaching a variety of courses for both the Master and PhD programs, including Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Quality Management, Universal Health Coverage, Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology.  Prof. Chhorvann also holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Cambodia Journal of Public Health (CJPH), showcasing his commitment to advancing public health knowledge in the country. He is an advisor to the Ministry of Health and contributes to various national committees on health.
