School of Public Health

Welcome to the School of Public Health (SPH)! Our programs prepare students to face challenges of existing and emerging health concerns, locally and globally, and enable students to apply critical thinking skills to address and resolve these complex health issues so that they make meaningful contributions to health and welfare of individuals and society.

With our highly qualified staff and standard laboratories, students will learn from expert faculties and gain real world practices. Besides, we have collaborated with many national, international, and private healthcare institutions where students can do internship or seek employment after graduation. Graduates will get a wide array of job opportunities and positions as health researchers, health managers, nutritionists, epidemiologists, health policy analysts, and public health professionals…etc. and potential further education at higher education institutions across the globe.

CURRICULUM

Our master degree programs, with multi-disciplinary studies, will equip students with rigorous academic skills as well as practical experience that enable them to meet the public health challenges of the 21st century.

We have offered MPH in Cambodia since 2007. This program will enable students to comprehensively analyze situations and challenges in health systems development, health care services organization, health policy, public health management, and disease control programs.

This program was first offered in 2011 with objectives to provide basic training in a wide range of research methods and designs necessary for doing research in epidemiology. The skills and knowledge will prepare students for research positions.

This master program was first conducted in 2012 and designed to train students to become highly skilled professionals in the field of nutrition. Graduates will be able to undertake advanced research to plan, implement, manage, evaluate nutrition programs, and provide nutritional advice for policy making.

This program was first introduced in 2014 with objectives to enable students to understand hospital management principles, concepts, strategies and methods. Students will be equipped with skills and knowledge in design, implementation and evaluation of various aspects of hospital administration and management. They will develop positive attitudes towards innovation and leadership skills adaptable to changing health care organizational context.

This Master Program on Community Health was created in 2019 to provide opportunity to those who do not have health-related background but currently work or wish to work to promote community health and community development.

Community Health is a multi-disciplinary course aiming to build students’ competency in community development, community assessment using participatory research, and develop program to build community leadership to address health problem in the community. The course is designed to respond to the need for public health workforces at community level. The course is designed through multiple stages, review of the existing courses related to community development in Cambodia and internationally, consultation with potential students, managers of government and civil society organizations, and faculty members.

This PhD in Public Health program will equip graduates with necessary cutting edge competencies to be a well-rounded public health researcher and leader who enables research evidence as a foundation for policy making in meeting and solving 21st century public health challenges. Our curriculum provides advanced didactic training in a specific discipline, develops students' critical thinking and research skills to conduct independent research,  and enhances written and oral communication skills to participate effectively in the scientific community for the advancement of the field through dissertation and peer-reviewed publications.

ADMISSION

We are so happy that you are interested in pursuing your studies with us! Here’s some information to get you started.

  • Having good English language proficiency (by submitting a valid TOEFL IBT at least 53 (Paper based at least 450 or IELTS at least 4.5). For students who do not have evidence of English proficiency at the admission, they will need to sign an agreement to fulfill the English requirement prior to their proposal defense.
  • Agreeing to terms and conditions and internal regulations of the School of Public Health

Master of Public Health

  • Possession of a medical doctor degree or at least a Bachelor degree in health-related areas.
  • Good academic records
  • Previous work experience in health sector is an advantage
  • Good english language proficiency (by submitting a valid TOEFL iBT at least 53, Paper based at least 430 or IELTS at least 4.5). 

Master of Hospital Administration

  • Possession of a bachelor degree or equivalent degree or higher degree.
  • Good academic records with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

Master of Science in Human Nutrition

  • Possession of a bachelor or higher degree in any discipline in science or social science or other science related areas
  • Possession of a bachelor or higher degree in public health or health sciences or health related areas
  • Good academic records
  • Good english language proficiency (by submitting a valid TOEFL iBT at least 53, Paper based at least 430 or IELTS at least 4.5). 

Master of Science in Epidemiology

  • Possession of a bachelor or higher degree in any discipline in science or social science or other science related areas
  • Possession of a bachelor or higher degree in public health or health sciences or health related areas
  • Good academic records
  • Good english language proficiency (by submitting a valid TOEFL iBT at least 53, Paper based at least 430 or IELTS at least 4.5). 

Master of Health and Community Development

  • Possession of a bachelor degree in any field
  • English proficiency is not required, but it is an advantage
